Today’s segment of Rainbow Smoothie Series is the green smoothie. I have so many favourite green smoothies and this is only one of them! I will be sharing many more green smoothies with you in the future. That’s a promise.

I always have a smoothie for breakfast and since I’m trying to be more and more healthy, I usually go for a green one. As long as you have a few sweet fruits, you can load these smoothies with so many vegetables and it will still taste like a treat. I love it!

The main component in this green beauty is the kale! (And the spinach, but let’s focus on the kale!)

Kale is supposedly the healthiest food in the world. Yeah, that’s right. Those are a few words that make me want to juice it, smooth it, bake it, steam it and just basically stuff myself with it.

  • Kale is low in calorie, high in fiber and has zero fat

The Green Smoothie

  • 1 massive handful kale
  • 1 handful spinach
  • 1 medium cucumber
  • 1/2 frozen banana
  • 1/2 lime or 1/4 lemon
  • 1 paraguayos peach
  • 1 kiwi fruit
  • 1 dl water
  • squirt of agave
  • fresh mint to taste

Run in a blender until completely smooth. Add water a bit at a time to control thickness. Serve with a straw, some raw almonds and a sprinkle of organic coconut flakes.

  1. Flot Smoothie 😀 har en kæmpe bunke grønkål liggende derhjemme, men jeg aner ikke hvordan jeg skal bruge det, så tror jeg vil give det her et skud. Dog ved jeg ikke om min blender kan klare det.. Hvilken blender bruger du? 🙂

    1. Det er en rigtig god ide! Du kan også prøve kale chips. De er så lækre.
      Jeg bruger bare blenderdelen af min foodprocessor til 500 kroner. Grønkål er ikke sindssygt hårdt for blenderen.

  2. I’m keen to try some green smoothies so am going to give this one a try out. Can you tell me what a “dl of water” is though please. Not sure I’ve heard of that measurement before.
