Now, we all know that the base of traditional milkshakes is ice cream. Since this series of Sweet Treat Shakes revolves around turning the sweet treats into nutritious & healthy shakes, we are going to use the natural equivalent; the frozen banana. When you blend a frozen banana, it has the exact same texture as soft serve ice cream and is completely free of those bad fats and refined sugars you will find in regular ice cream. Instead, you get lots of potassium and other vital nutrients. That’s a pretty good deal, if you ask me.
The Mint Chocolate Shake
- 2 bananas / frozen
- 100 milliliter almond milk (more or less)
- 1 small handful fresh spinach (for colour)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla bean powder
- 2-3 drops of peppermint oil
- dark chocolate garnish
The Mint Chocolate Shake Directions
- Take bananas out of the freezer and leave for a few minutes to soften slightly before running them in the blender with the rest of the ingredients
- Add almond milk gradually to adjust thickness
- Serve with a few mint leaves, a sprinkle of dark chocolate and a straw
- Enjoy!
You can also try some other great shakes from the Sweet Treat Shake Series:

Wow these were a hit.
Had to alter recipe to what I had on hand.Didn’t have any Spanish so used barley grass powered .Didn’t have any peppermint oil and used a big handful of spearmint and used a vanilla pod instead of powder. So with the alteration it didn’t look quite the same but wow the taste was amazing .
Great recipe! But it’s just impossible to find the vanilla bean powder in France! Maybe in London, i will check next time.
You can use a vanilla bean pod!
Just curious, do you think peppermint extract would work instead of the oil? Thanks.
Any type of peppermint will work x
